Roseanne began to wonder how she could make her encouraging but neutral conversational interjections less prone to misinterpretation.
[Image transcript] Friend: 'It reminded me of Albéniz's Iberia suite...' Roseanne: 'Oh okay, yep.' F: 'Oh! You're familiar with his work?' R: 'Um, no, sorry.' F: 'Oh. You said, "Oh okay, yep."' R: 'I meant: "Oh okay, yep, I don't know who or what you are talking about but if you keep on talking I may be able to extrapolate so don't stop talking because I don't want to interrupt your flow.'
